The Parc des Princes is the home of the famous football club Paris Saint-Germain, whose sporting exploits compete with the major European clubs, notably those from Britain, Spain and Germany. Situated in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, this iconic stadium has undergone two major renovations since the inauguration of its first pitch in 1897.
PSG pitch
Since 1974, Paris Saint-Germain has been the resident club at the Parc des Princes. This means that all the PSG's home matches take place on this legendary ground, which has hosted so many international and national matches. To keep this flame burning for the young fans, the capital's club decided to install synthetic turf in the corridors of its iconic stadium. In this way, they can hold mini-matches on this superb play area between players on grass.
This initiative brings a splendid green colour to the corridors of the Parc des Princes, contrasting with the concrete structure and the bright red of the stairs. In addition to its aesthetic role, the 600 sq. m. of this synthetic turf makes the journey safer for young players, who can indulge their passion without risk of injury.
Exelgreen, leader in synthetic turf
The decision of the Parc de Prince directors to opt for Marbella synthetic turf from Exelgreen was not taken by chance. In fact, the company has specialised in this type of floor covering for events for almost 10 years.
For this installation, Paris Saint Germain wanted a short, dense synthetic turf with the fire classification essential for establishments which receive the public. In addition, the 4m wide rolls had to be pre-cut to the exact length, to facilitate fitting, as well as the storage of the rolls between any two games. Responding both to the technical requirements and the logistics, naturally Paris Saint Germain chose Exelgreen.
